Pros:Speaker phone on each handset works wellCall quality works well on BOTH lines (Uniden has a bad echo on line two rendering them useless).2.5MM line jack and INCLUDED belt clip (panasonic sends an order form for the 1 dollar belt clip and 5-10 bucks in shipping)No answering machine model (most of us use the phone company ones so this is nice)Lines ring differently so you know if its work or personal.reception is good, even on multiple floors.STRONG phones, I got angry and chucked one against the wall almost full force, put the battery back in and its just fine. When the second line rings it does not cut out your voice on the line you are talking on. We bought these phones when they came out years and years ago. Replacement handsets for these phones can run over 300 despite the fact they were 30 new, that tells you something. With a new battery the battery life is insane. Its the best designed, engineered, built and functional two line cordless ever made and it seems.ever will be. Those who really need a quality 2-line cordless that is designed well buy these.
They use to be 60 bucks for the base and 30 for the phone. We have attempted to purchase replacements from other companies but every one we have purchased could not hold a candle to these phones. Message waiting indicator works (for messages on the phone companies voicemail)Intercom works well and phones can be labeled (kitchen, office etc)Cons:Phone no longer made so they are very expensive. For those that complain about batteries the problem is these phones were made 5+ years ago so the batteries included will most likely be shot. Good news is 3rd party batteries are now available. Now the base units run 140 and replacement hand-sets 180-380 bucks. Its sad but 6-7 years after the release of this phone not ONE company has released something that can hold a candle to this phone.
the VTech 20-2481 2.4 GHz DSS 2-Line Expandable Cordless Phone with Digital Answering System and Caller ID (Silver and Black) is an excellent product when you have two phone lines outside, and that can be used independently without interference between them, also has long-range handset to the base, which correctly identifies the handset is being used and that line is busy, which empties in order if it complies with everything offered, so if there is to be careful in the installation to work properly.
I haven't gotten around to reading the instruction manual just yet, but I have managed to record an outgoing message, listen to incoming messages and review the call history. This 2-line telephone/answering machine is great. It is very easy to use and I don't say that lightly. It's nice looking and very compact, not taking up too much desk space. The sound quality is also very good I haven't experienced any static or other interference with the voice mails or with person to person calls.
The phone did not work. We sent it back. We did not get a credit note.
This phone arrived defective - caller ID did not work at all, answering service was very hard to figure out, and half the time when the phone was hung up it did not "recognize" the base. Digital Etc. After 30 min on the phone with VTECH they told us to call the seller. who said they did not take returns after 15 days, charged a 15% re-stock fee and did not reimburse for shipping costs (6-8$ each way). is vending rip-off defective items and forcing customers to bear most of the cost. Don't buy from them.
